Cancer cluster in university building due to black mold and radon
Sometimes Radon occurs in places you least expect it. Florida, in general, has only few pockets of high Radon levels. Finding higher levels of Radon in higher floors of buildings is also more the exception than the normal.
However, Florida State University now investigates potential air quality issues on one of their 1950's era campus buildings due to high levels of Radon and Mold. A new report states that at least eight faculty or grad assistants who worked on the fourth floor of the building have been diagnosed with cancer over the last several years. FSU now commissioned a full indoor air quality assessment including Radon testing and Mold detection.
SunRADON has reached out to FSU's administration to offer assistance to implement reliable, long term Radon and Indoor Air Quality Monitoring utilizing SunRADON's state of the art, cloud based monitoring solutions.
