National indoor air quality month — 31 tips for children's health
How many tips can you follow in 31 days?
In addition to observing October National Indoor Air Quality Month, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) also takes this opportunity to focus on children's environmental health. In support of Children’s Health Month, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) developed tips for all 31 days of October. They include:
Eliminating asthma triggers
Testing for Radon
Reducing mercury exposure
Preventing carbon monoxide poisoning
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), from their earliest stages of development through puberty, children are vulnerable to exposure to environmental contaminants, such as lead. They are particularly vulnerable because their bodies are small and still developing, so they ingest and absorb more chemicals. Read More
